Obituary of Maria Cirilia Romero
In Loving Memory of Maria Romero, June 5, 1935 – November 5, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria on November 5, 2023. She left us peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones.
Maria was a wonderful woman who touched the lives of all who knew her. She was born in Tecolote, New Mexico on the fifth of June, 1935, and was known for her love for Jesus, and her desire to know more about His Word. She brought joy and laughter wherever she went, and her absence will be deeply felt by all.She attended Adult High School where she earned her high school diploma. She met her love, Daniel, at a carnival when he asked her to ride the Ferris wheel. She accepted, their friendship grew, and they married in August of 1952. They built their life together until his death in 2012.
Throughout her life, Maria left lasting impressions all around. Whether she was gardening, being a homemaker for her family, or attending bible study, her dedication and passion for her faith inspired those around her and left a lasting impact on our community. Maria greatly enjoyed and loved her friends Linda, Betty and all of her special precious friends from Longs Peak Residence. They were like a family to her. She had such a way of connecting with people and making them feel seen and valued. Her love, support, and guidance will continue to live on in the hearts of those fortunate to have known her.
Maria leaves behind a legacy that will endure for generations. She was a mother to three children: son Bobby Romero, and two daughters: Virginia Ramos (Jim) and Victoria and Romero who preceded her in death. She is survived by her siblings Ralph Lujan, Paul Lujan (Dolores), Mary Cruz Martinez, Rose Trujillo, and was preceded in death by Benny, Nick, Pete, Josie and Alice. She will forever be cherished by her family, especially her nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Amidst our grief, we take solace in the memories we shared with Maria. We honor her life and the incredible impact she had on others. As we mourn, we also celebrate her life and the love she gave so freely. Though Maria may no longer be with us, her spirit will forever shine bright in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace.
A memorial service will be held on November 20th, at 10:00am, at Rêver Church, in Longmont, Colorado.
