Obituary of Lucinda Torres
Tribute
Lucinda “Lucy” Torres departed her loving family on September 16, 2022, she was 87 years old. Lucy was born in Pecos, New Mexico on August 14, 1935, to Alfredo and Lorenza Armijo. She married Manuel Torres on November 15, 1954, in Pecos, New Mexico before moving to Colorado to raise their family.
Lucy was the mother to Marti, Robert, John, Joseph, Susan, Maryanne, Frank, and Leonard. She raised her children with love and devotion in Longmont, CO.
She had many hobbies including gardening, crocheting, needlepoint, fishing, and cooking. Many of her family members were blessed with beautifully crocheted blankets and many other handcrafted items she created.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel, sons John, Joseph, Frank, and Leonard, her parents Alfredo and Lorenza, and brother, Don Armijo.
Lucy is survived by her children, Marti (Martin), Robert (Kelly), Susan (Rod), and Maryanne; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A Rosary will be held on Monday, October 10 at 6 pm at Lewellen Funeral Home located at 503 Terry Street in Longmont.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 10:30 am at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church located at 323 Collyer Street in Longmont. The burial service will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory. A luncheon will be held at St. John’s following the burial service.
